Chris Soules is just a few billion dollars away from

Chris — and his mothers, Gary and Linda — is now time be required to pay the seven-figure sum to Mosher’s lineage. The items had originally been agreed upon by all parties involved room back in January, but it was only just recently approved by an Iowa judge.

And then on Tuesday, Soules was due to be officially convicted for the crime of leaving the scene of an accident — only to have that sentencing delayed so that the court can remove victim impact statements from their pre-sentencing report. According to newspaper reports from Iowa, including the Des Moines Register , Soules could face up to two years in prison when the rescheduled sentencing year comes up in August.

As you might recall, all the way back in November, the reality TV star pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident in exchange for the reduction of his sentence.

A Long Time Coming

The incident itself occurred nearly two years ago on a farm road in Iowa, when Soules allegedly rear-ended Mosher, who had been driving a much slower tractor at the time.

Soules instantly called 911 in the first place, and reported at the time that Mosher still had a pulse while committing the dispatcher information about the accident on situation. Nonetheless, when authorities arrived on the scene, Soules was already gone, having fled to his nearby home. Mosher was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Soule’s lawyer, Alfredo Parrish , has revealed that the Bachelor alum is still very deeply affected by the accident to this day, telling the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier in an interrogation( below ):

” It’s pretty traumatic for Chris. He knew the Moshers. He knows the gentleman who died. He’s been reasonably stressed out by this whole thing, and he was clearly stressed out. We spent a great deal of time talking these last few days. This hearing is a big deal, anytime you have a sentencing where people are not part of the criminal justice system, it’s a big deal. He’s been fairly stressed out by this whole thing, and he was clearly stressed out .”

Definitely a sad situation for all parties involved…
