Race to contain deadly fires as powers inform 80 mph gales could fan kindles in already destroyed communities

Wildfires blazing through California have entered the heart of Los Angeles as approvals warned of an” extreme flaming danger” across the city.

Firefighters in the affluent Bel-Air neighbourhood battled to save multimillion-dollar estates in the road of the ignites, which have destroyed homes near the Getty museum in America’s second largest city.

The Skirball fire, which appeared early on Wednesday, burned about 500 acres near big estates in Bel-Air, scorching part of a winery owned by Rupert Murdoch.
