Britton too spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the destructive occurrence, explaining that, yes, she was ready to move on, but it had nothing to do with the displays move from ABC to CMT.

It actually felt like we would be in a good home and this would be the time to start talking about Raynas departure, she answered.[ Showrunner] Marshall[ Herskovitz] came up with this story and it find right. I told him, I want to do justice to this reference, this persona shes so special to me. Im kind of choked up even talking to you. Rayna symbolizes so much better to me and so does the gathering of Nashville and to me that was priority number 1. Whatever we did had to reputation the character and honor the appearance and feel like we were doing it right.

Although it was reported that salary was a factor in government decisions, Britton totally shot down that idea.

No, coin was not a factor. I fantasize[ the length of era] had something to do with it, she remarked. As performers we ever want to keep defying ourselves. Make me just say there were a lot of reasons. Some of them were personal and some were inventive, and Im perhaps not going to get much more detailed than that. There were a lot of things at romp, and ultimately it was about reaching sure the prove was in a good place.

Nashville will, of course, continue on without Britton, as virtuosoes like Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Esten and the Stella sisters are still on board. But Rayna Jaymes, the heart and soul of the prove, will be sorely missed.
