Gordon Murray Teewave AR.1 Concept 2011
Gordon Murray Teewave AR.1 Concept 2011 — A new prototype electric sports car, Gordon Murray Teewave AR.1, recently announced by the Gordon Murray Design Limited and Toray Industries Inc. This new concept car, which comes with 'T.32' internal GMD code number, is the project result from Toray and Gordon Murray Design in designing, developing and build an attractive and fully-functional concept car which employs a number of Toray's advanced automotive materials.
The 2-seater prototype electric sports car is built using Toray's carbon fibre component system. The carbon monocoque, as one of Teewave's key technologies, can be used to all types of car and non 2-seater sports car.
The entire project delivered on target, starts from the concept discussions to test runs only took 9 months, both in terms of cost and final handover. Gordon Murray Teewave AR.1 Concept 2011 is equipped with a power train that is used in one of the commercial electric vehicles currently available, although its unique electrical architecture and control units were exclusively developed by Gordon Murray Design.
