Prince William and Prince Harry announced over Twitter that they’ve commissioned a memorial statue for their mum, saying in a joint affirmation, “It’s been 20 times since our mother’s extinction and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and of all the countries with a permanent statue.”
Princess Diana’s two sons were 15 and 12 when their mom was killed in a Paris car crash, along with her partner Dodi Al Fayed in August of 1997. The Rulers have privately grown funding for the project, alongside other parties including her sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale, according to the Evening Standard .
The statue will reside in the public gardens of Kensington Palace, the place she used to call home.
“Our mother touched so many lives, ” the statement prolonged. “We hope the bronze will assist all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and legacy.”
Let’s all allege a silent devotion that the effigy does justice to the “people’s Princess” and doesnt be brought to an end appearing creepy-crawlies such as those royal family wax illustrations.
