Kate Arrington, the South Carolina lawmaker who frustrated Rep. Mark Sanford’s hopes for re-election with assistance from President Trump earlier this month, was seriously injured in a car accident belatedly Friday. Arrington’s spokesman told The Post and Courier on Saturday that she was alert and able to talk after the two-car clang, which was reportedly caused by a wrong-way driver. She suffered material fracture in her back and various ruined rib, as well as other traumata expecting major surgery. Arrington underwent one surgery Saturday morning and was said to be preparing for another. She is expected to remain hospitalized for at least two weeks.
