On February 14, 2014, the Hennessey Poison GT set a brand-new world speed record for 2-seat cars by getting to a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h). The examination was carried out at the John F. Kennedy Area Fixate the 3.2-mile Space Shuttle touchdown runway. Brian Smith, Director of Miller Motorsports Park, drove the Poison GT to its record speed.
